Former MacDowell Company president Roy MacDowell now serves as principal of Baystone Development in Weston, Massachusetts. Outside of his ample professional responsibilities, Roy MacDowell enjoys supporting his favorite local charitable institutions, including Boston Children's Hospital.
Boston Children's Hospital is one of the largest medical centers for children in the United States. A leader in both research and patient care, the hospital cares for young patients from before birth to age 21 or beyond.
Each year, Boston Children's Hospital holds the Eversource Walk for Kids in conjunction with Eversource and other local sponsors. This popular event raises money for The Children's Fund, which benefits the hospital. Funds raised at the annual event support ongoing research as well as day-to-day care for patients and their loved ones. In 2017, Boston Children's hopes to raise $1,800,000 at the walk.
The 2017 walk will be held Sunday, June 11, at the DCR Hatch Shell. Participants may choose from a two-mile or six-mile walk.
