Application Requirements for NAIOP Distinguished Fellows

A recipient of the Massachusetts Historical Commission Award, Roy MacDowell serves as Baystone Development’s principal. Roy MacDowell is also a member of the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties (NAIOP), now known as the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

The NAIOP’s Distinguished Fellows program attracts some of the leading minds in commercial real estate. To achieve fellowship, an individual must receive a nomination from the NAIOP’s corporate board of directors or one of the organization’s chapter presidents.
Nomination reviews take place in the fall, after which candidates receive notification regarding their standing. To qualify for nomination, candidates must have one of the following:
- an advanced degree in a field related to real estate;
- extensive experience as an educator or researcher;
- involvement in full-time research or academia; or
- published works, such as books, articles, or research papers, in the real estate field.
