The Food Program at Waltham Boys and Girls Club

The former president of The MacDowell Company, a construction and landscaping firm in New England, Roy MacDowell now serves as the principal of Baystone Development, a real estate developer in Weston, Massachusetts. Away from his work, Roy MacDowell supports the Waltham Boys and Girls Club (WBGC).

The WBGC aims to inspire and empower young people through its range of programs, ensuring the children become responsible and productive members of society. One of the WBGC’s key initiatives is its Food Club program.
Available to everyone under the age of 19 regardless of WBGC affiliation, the Food Club distributes an average of 70 meals per day each summer to nine sites throughout Waltham, including shelters, parks, and housing developments. Further, the Food Club operates the ChopChop Cooking Lab every Thursday, which has a curriculum that helps participants develop their science, math, and language skills while they learn about food and cooking.
